What is the redemption period?
If you do not renew your domain name before its expiry date it will enter the redemption period. This gives you 16 days after the expiry of your domain name to renew the domain. During this period any services related to the domain name are suspended, but no one else will be able to register your domain name. Once this 16 day period expires, if you have failed to renew your domain name, it will be entered into a queue for deletion and will eventually be deleted from the registry. Others will then be able to register the domain on a first-come, first-served basis.
