What is a domain back order?
Every day thousands of domain names are suspended and deleted as owners fail to renew or pay the registration fee. This gives the opportunity for both individuals and companies to own a domain that has been registered for several years.
When the registered owner fails to pay the renewal fee against a domain, that domain is placed on hold or suspended, the current owner can still renew the domain during this short period to regain the domain. If however the domain is not renewed during this period then it’s deleted from the registry. Once a domain has been deleted it’s available to be registered on a first come first served basis and more often that not is snapped up within days or hours of becoming available (especially if a .com domain).
The Domainmonster.com back order service monitors domains pending deletion and attempts to register a domain the second it becomes available.
